Her legacy
Anna Marie Wolf Walker Dey
Anna Marie Wolf Walker Dey, 88, of Matawan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, at her home, surrounded by her family.  A beloved mother, mother in law, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was the matriarch of a family that will always have her love in each of their hearts.  Born in Fords, she had lived in Matawan for the past 68 years.  While raising her own family and caring for an ill husband, she did home nursing for several prominent Matawan families.  She was a past member of the Matawan First Aid Auxilary, a past treasurer of the Matawan Seniors, and a member of the Danish Sisterhood.  Joy was hers while playing cards with her card club, watching a good movie, enjoying a funny story, playing Scrabble or just reminiscing with family and friends.  Her legacy is one of love, friendship, and possibly being the world's best pie baker.  Her smile and warmth touched many and she will be surely missed by all who were blessed to have her in their lives.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, Max and Anna Wolf, the original owners of the Matawan Bakery; her first husband, Laurence T. Walker; her second husband, Wilbert Dey; and her two sisters, Martha Newman and Katherine Schanck.  Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sally Walker of Wickatunk, Jim and Diane Walker of Daytona Beach, Fl. formerly of Matawan, Bob and Marie Walker of Matawan, Richard and Charlene Walker of Hazlet, and Tom and Barbara Walker of Point Pleasant; her daughter Nadine Phelan of Matawan; her daughter and son in law Pat and Jack Hamlin of Matawan; her daughter in law Jane Walker of Morganville; her twenty two grandchildren; Terry Conroy, Kathy Le Tual, Larry Walker, Kelsey Walker, Kasey Walker, Ted Phelan, Jim Phelan, John Hinds, Tin Hinds, Janine Acerra, Ginny Hamlin, Jack Hamlin, Patrick Walker, Jimmy Walker, Bobby Walker, Martine Walker, Kim Walker, Richard Walker, Kerri Deron, Joe Walker, Jude Walker, Brooke Burnham; thirty great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and loving friends; Ron Vargo, Peggy Ratcliff, Nadine Vogel, and many others.
